About Joyce Jacobs Erfert

Joyce Jacobs Erfert grew up in the Midwest as a PK (pastor’s kid). A rich spiritual heritage instilled in her a passion to offer hope and encouragement through her writing, whether by a devotional or a novel.

Books were always a part of her life, whether at home or school, and she felt the impact of well-chosen words artfully woven into fiction or nonfiction. She often reads three or four books at a time, and it seemed a natural step to start writing herself. She loves the challenge and edification of nonfiction, but loves to relax with a good cozy mystery. In fact, she is writing a cozy mystery of her own, which she calls her recreational writing. Her heart project is a devotional related to the struggle of Christian families faced with mental health issues.

Memberships in West Coast Christian Writers, Cascade Christian Writers, and American Christian Fiction Writers have helped her hone her skills, and the friendships she has formed keep her motivated.

She and her husband, Richard, live in Arizona at 7000 feet. So yes, there is a lot of snow, even in Arizona. Besides writing, she is learning to crochet and loves to sit on the porch watching the birds. She is attempting to have a small garden again, hopefully avoiding the appetites of deer and javelinas. Weather permitting, she and Richard love to walk the trails behind their home, and she enjoys trying out new plant-based recipes, which he eats without complaining. Most of all, they share a deep faith and love of Jesus Christ and are active in their local church.
